Saintpaulia brevipilosa (Mather No. 10)
Wild species. First collected in Nguru Mountains, Tanzania, by R.W. Punter 1959. Official description by B.L. Burtt 1964. My clone originally from the collection of the late Sylva Mather from Nairobi, Kenya.

Light purple flower with a darker eye. Leaves thin, round, light green.

Saintpaulia rupicola
Wild species. First collected by W.R. Punter 1958. Official description by B.L. Burtt 1964. My specimen from a member of the Swedish AVS.

Single light to medium blue pansy. Light to medium green, heart shaped shiny leaves. Soft, velvety leaves with light reverse, sometimes thick.

Saintpaulia rupicola (variety?)
Wild species. First collected by W.R. Punter 1958. Official description by B.L. Burtt 1964. My specimen from a member of the Swedish AVS.

Stronger growth than the above S. rupicola clone, blooms more easily, don't produce as many suckers.

Saintpaulia rupicola (variety)
Mutation/sport of the regular S. rupicola.

Single white pansy with light blue stripes and hints of stripes on the petals. Light to medium green, heart shaped shiny leaves. Soft, velvety leaves with light reverse.


Förgrenad/buskig krypande, standard

Saintpaulia 'Pangani Falls'
Wild species. Collected by the Pangani water falls in Tanzania.

Quilted leaves (there is also a variety with smooth leaves).

Saintpaulia sp.
Wild species.

Similar to Saintpaulia rupicola but more petite. Has for many years been in circulation under the incorrect label "Saintpaulia inconspicua" (a species that has not been found in cultivation).

Double-semi double, large fringed star. Light blue with darker eye, markings in light red. Edge in varying light green. Dark green large foliage.

Single white star with strong blue stripes on the petals. Regular, medium green leaves.

White flower with two purple stripes in the throat. Shiny clear green, rounded leaves with pointed tip. Rosette leaf pattern.

A noname plant that I bought in a florist's. White flowers with purple stripes on the three lower lobes.

A noname plant that I was given. Light purple flowers with darker stripes in the throat.
